Smoking is so physical. It involves the mouth, pursing lips, sucking, inhaling and exhaling. I like long slender fingers with long nails elegantly holding and flicking the cigarette’s tip. I like the way they roll off the ash on the edge of an ashtray, forming the end of the cigarette into a round or pointed shape. I like the sound of a woman smoking, the crackle of the tobacco burning as she sucks hard on the filter, the whoosh of her inhaling the smoke into her body, the sigh of the exhale…
